On the international scene, Sphinx is uniquely qualified for and actively involved in development initiatives that aggressively address the acute shortage of affordable housing in the developing economies of sub-Saharan Africa; especially in the country of Nigeria. The transfer of American affordable housing development know-how, sophisticated financing of debt and equity, and the interplay of private and public collaboration, is indeed what separates Sphinx from the pack in this arena.
Recognizing that successful SMPCs in Nigeria will depend on building materials availability, Sphinx joint ventured the establishment of Alpha 3-D Limited, with the Ondo State Government of Nigeria for the manufacturing of 3-D building panels capable of producing more 4,000 housing units per year. The Delta State Government (DTSG) has granted to Sphinx Development International 100 hectares of land along the north side of Warri Port Expressway. The proposed master planned community will provide 1508 housing units with infrastructure (road, water and electricity), and other facilities, such as school, shops, offices, parks, etc. The housing units are comprised of the following prototypes: detached, semi-detached, duplex, and block of flats.
The Anambra State Government (ANSG) has granted approximately 126 hectares of land at the northern part of the Onitsha metropolis along the Onitsha -Enugu Expressway. The master planned community will provide 1200 housing units with infrastructure and neighborhood facilities.
